NPC Showdown 2024: The Perfect Necromon Team

WE'RE BACK AT IT AGAIN! But this year, things are a little different.

Thanks to 2023's hiatus, we haven't actually introduced that many new NPCs this year, so instead of doing a repeat of last year, we're going to create a Necromon team!

The process is going to work as follows:

• DRAFTS: Four mon will go up every day, and the top two votes will proceed to the next round.

• FORMAT: We'll vote on how we want to diversify our team structure (do we want different elements, different stats, different levels of fuzziness?)

• FINALS: Based on on the format we decide, the remaining 24 mon will be assembled into groups of 4. The winner of each group will be one member of our final team!

At the end, we'll have a team of six Necromon so strong that even Oset Scuba can't beat them! We don't have a bracket this time, but you can vote starting today at twitter.com/quest_friends, and you can also share your ideal Necromon team by tagging us on the social media website of your choice!

Final Round (5 Votes): Dancing Mushrooms Win! (60% Dancing Mushrooms, 0% Duck, 40% Walks-tiki)

FORMAT

Things really switched up by the time we got here. Due a three-way tie on the trainer (2 votes a piece, with 1 vote going to the siren), I decided to make the three trainers go head to head, each with a signature mon! The mon was chosen based on the category picked by the fans, and the fans were able to add their own details, as well.

Third Trainer - The Demon (9 Votes): Unnatural Element Mon Win! (20% Mammal-like, 20% Team players, 60% Unnatural Elements, 0% Fierce))

• "She loves wearing heated sweaters."

• "I feel like a friend makes the sweaters for her because she complained that she couldn’t find any that were heated and also fireproof (she accidentally set her other sweaters on fire). She’s chaotic, sweet, and loves cookies."

Second Trainer - The Phantom (4 Votes): Obscure Mon Win! (25% Necromon that Don't Talk, 50% Obscure, 25% Undead, 0% Small)

• "The phantom is an old, old man."

• "This old man has the pulled up overalls that are full of pockets. In these pockets are trinkets they use for every situation imaginable. Comes with the many years of experience."

• "This phantom man was an alchemist who discovered a potion that made him invisible. He never figured out how to turn himself visible again though. He died unseen. Literally. Get it? GET IT?? Also he bakes excellent brownies."

First Trainer - The Skeleton (9 Votes): Plant/Fungus Mon Win! (33% Cute, 0% Dangerous, 22% Slick, 45% Plant/Fungus)

• "Their name is Rickie Rattles."

• "Rickie Rattles doesn't know how to snap despite leading a snappy-dancy Jets/Shark type gang. It's his most well-kept secret."

• "Rickie Rattles only speaks in 17-syllable haiku. He is VERY STRICT about this and NEVER makes any mistakes."

• "I say plant fungus cause they can be apart of the skeleton trainer too!"

• "Rickie Rattles studied literature at Skulliard, that’s where their love for haikus comes from. They died overworked from writing a paper about the works of Edgar Norman-Smith, therefore they heavily dislike that poet."
